Manjimup Lifestyle Attractions

Manjimup is the regional centre of the largest shire in the South West of Western Australia with magnificent forests and beautiful rich countryside. The diversity of Manjimup and the surrounding area is seen in ecological, historical, agricultural, commercial and industrial pursuits offered.
The town is well serviced with shopping and facilities, both sporting and for the visitor.

Over eighty percent of the shire is composed of National Park and forestry and includes places of significance particularly to the timber and agricultural industries.  For leisure activities, there is swimming and fishing, bush walking and nature studies, wine tasting from the many boutique wineries in the emerging wine region.  The history of the region is well documented and preserved.
Manjimup is the centre of a flrourishing fruit and vegetable industry, and is the proud birthplace of the delicious Pink Lady apple. It’s a great place to pick up fresh produce from the farm gates or at the regular Farmer’s Markets.

Fonty's Pool

Fonty’s Pool

Italian immigrant Archimede Fontanini created Fonty’s Pool in 1910 by placing damming a permanent stream on his property in the anticipation that the stream would settle and make the land more fertile.

The Pool soon became a popular swimming place for the locals and, when Archie wanted to drain it to resume growing vegetables, there was strong resistance from the locals.

Public opinion made Archie retain the pool and cement it. A small admission fee was charged for its maintenance. Gardens were developed with its official opening being held in 1925.

Glenoran Pool

Sited on the Donnelly River, the Glenoran Pool provides an appealing swimming and picnic area with barbeques, shade, walk trails and toilets provided.

A walk trail links the pool and nearby historical One Tree Bridge and the Four Aces.
The Glenoran Pool has leaping rainbow trout to be caught by the keen fisherman or elusive marron can be snared using a traditional bushman’s snare (in season).

The meandering Bibbulman Track follows the river for some distance both up and downstream.
