Dunsborough Cultural & Lifestyle Attractions

Dunsborough is a bustling sea side town where it is still possible to take in the simple pleasures of life, swimming in the pristine waters at Meelup, fishing or snorkeling in Geographe Bay, surfing at Yallingup, bush walking in the Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park or just relaxing with friends.

The town and surrounding area boasts galleries where some of the finest local craftspeople display world class works in wood, glass and all forms of art.

In Dunsborough itself, there is a wide variety of shops, including a range of dining experiences designed to tempt your taste buds from beachside cafes through fine dining to fast food outlets.  Close by are several top vineyards with accompanying cellar doors and some with dining outlets.

An assortment of entertainment options is available, particularly during the summer months, with live music, market days and various festivals throughout the year.

The Dunsborough Lakes Resort and Golf Course is an 18 hole championship golf course and is just one of the many sporting options available in the town.  All forms of water sports are well catered for just by the town’s location: swimming, snorkeling, diving, surfing, fishing, boating are just some that are on offer.
Meelup and Eagle Bay

The winding scenic drive to Meelup with trees arched overhead providing dappled shade leads to one of the safest beaches in Australia.  The wide bay with its striking turquoise blue water, and pristine white beaches is protected  from the swells that hit the Western coast, making it a safe beach for families.  Close by are tall trees and dense undergrowth accompanied by the sounds of nature.

‘Meelup’ is an Aboriginal word meaning ‘place of the moon rising’.   It is an Eastward facing bay which means that on some nights, you can watch the moon rise over the ocean.
