Collie Ecological & Natural Attractions

Wellington National Park
The Wellington National Park covers around 4000 hectares and includes thick stands of Jarrah forest which were privately owned until the Government purchased it.  Now everyone can enjoy tall this National Park has to offer.

Flora Road Scenic Drive
Following the Collie River through magnificent Jarrah forest, sparkling rapids and enticing picnic area, this 7 km drive is on gravel but certainly worth it, especially in Spring when there is an abundance of wild flowers.

Bibbulmun Track

Bibbulmun Track
This Bibbulum walking trail is 964 km in length, stretching from Kalamunda to Albany, with the longest section in the Collie Shire. The Track is well set up with Hikers' huts, in picturesque locations, sited approximately a day's walk apart offering toilets, water tanks, tent sites and shelter. The section of track from Harris River Road and Harris River campsite can also be used by people in wheelchairs.
The track is marked with gold Waugal track markers, however it is advisable to carry a map for the longer walks.

Munda Biddi Trail
Munda Biddi Trail (meaning path through the forest in the Nyoongar Aboriginal Language) is a cycle trail which begins in the hills East of Perth with the current stage one finishing in Collie.  The Trail has been designed for cyclists of all ages and experience with vehicle access points to allow you to design your own journey.  There are campsites with roomy sleeping shelters, toilets, rain water tanks and bike storage around 40 kms apart.  Collie to Mundaring is 332 km but you can enjoy a short ride or have a week long adventure.
In the future, the plan is to extend the Munda Biddi Trail through to Albany.

Collie - Darkan Rail Trail
Opened in October 2005, the Collie – Darken Rail Trail is multipurpose catering to cyclists, walkers and horse riders.  Built on the disused Collie to Narrogin railway line, the Trail has a graded gravel surface with four main road crossings and four timber decked bridges.  Covering 46.5 km the Trail passes through bushland and scenic farmland, following the east branch of the Collie River and the Coalfields Road. There is a broad diversity of flora and fauna, with a spectaular wildflower display in spring.
Original railway sidings are named and marked and there are campsites along the way.

Collie River Walk
This 10 km scenic walk follows the Collie River and is suitable for walking or cycling.   Picnic facilities and information shelters are available along the trail making it a very user friendly family outing.
