Fact Sheet 18: Website - Inserting Items - Dynamic Content

The orange and green boxes insert Dynamic Content.

You will see it being used when you look at various pages on your site.

The dynamic content uses programming languages called XML and XSLT, but how to program these languages is outside the scope of these fact sheets.

However, there are some excellent dynamic content features which are covered in these sheets, such as password protection. You could use that to make sure a page is only seen by members, or perhaps only the committee, of your organisation. It also allows you to design a form so that people can submit information to you via the web or you can run a bulletin board so people can write on topics.

Dynamic content is also used in the management of the News page, the Events page, the documents page and the Photo Gallery.

Each of these topics covered in greater depth (see fact sheets 6 News, 7 Events,
19 Forms, 20 Bulletin Board, 21 Password Protection, 27 Documents &
29 Photo Gallery).
