  • Dance,
  • Vocal,
  • Piano,
  • Strings,
  • Organ,
  • Keyboard,
  • Percussion,
  • Brass,
  • Woodwind and
  • Drama.

Participants and audiences alike are attracted from throughout the South West and Perth. Eisteddfod highlights include two Gala Concerts held at the conclusion of competition providing audiences with a wonderful showcase of the talent on display during the festival, Young Entertainers/Just For Fun Night – a variety show spectacular held on a Thursday evening during dance week and the “Australian Idol-style” Westrac Contemporary Vocal Contest.

The event has come a long way since it was formed in 1959 as the Bunbury Music Festival. The event was first held at the Railway Institute with 600 participants before moving to the Paisley Centre and the Repertory Club’s Little Theatre. In 1991 the name was changed to City of Bunbury Eisteddfod and the event moved to the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre.

The chance for participants to perform in a professional theatre prompted an annual surge in entries and since that time the City of Bunbury Eisteddfod continues to grow in size, scope and prestige.
