Donnybrook Apple Festival

The Donnybrook Apple Festival is holding the 51st Apple Festival on the Easter weekend Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th April 2006.  This traditionally focuses on the Apple industry but this festival will also display the many products produced in the Donnybrook region.

The Apple Festival Ball will be held on Saturday 8th April, where there will be an Apple Ambassador crowned.  The Apple Festival theme is Harvest Delights.  There will be sideshow alley, fashion parade, log chops, farm animals, clowns, a gala float parade on both Saturday evening & Sunday at 12.00 noon, a spectacular fireworks display and non stop live entertainment until 10.00 pm Saturday night.

Doopa Dog will be at the festival to entertain the kids.  Donny Apple Brook will be handing out free apples.  For the first time there will be an ice sculptor Flint Edwards creating a sculptor out of a solid block of ice, this will happen on both days.

Magician Michael Fouche will display his magical powers, Roving clown/juggler Johnno B Biscuit.  Music will be by several bands, Royal Australian Navy Band, local Janeymac band, Girls ith Guitars band and also Cahoots band soloist troy Bennel, didgeridoo player & story teller, Brookhampton Bellringers will be bell ringing at the Railway station/tourist centre, irish dancers & bootscooters and many other performers and artists.

We will also have in excess of 100 food and variety stalls including loads of apple and wine giveaways, apple and wine tastings, arts & craft displays, old machinery displays, fruit displays & fruit sales plus many more attractions.  A Dunny Derby will be run over the two days with several teams competing for prize money.

This is a festival for all the family and one not to be missed.
