Australind Lions Autumn Carnival Extravaganza

The members of the Lions Club of Australind are at it again! That’s right; the long standing club is holding the Australind Lions 3rd Annual Autumn Carnival at the picturesque Ridley Place in Australind on the Leschenault inlet on Sunday April 9th 2006 running from 10:00am to 3:00pm.

This year is guaranteed to be jammed packed full of entertainment, great food, and rides and stalls building on the exceptional success that the last year’s event gained.

“This year is again being held in April so that we miss any cold wet weather and make the most of the lovely autumn” said Lions Carnival Secretary Jeff Blunt. “I’m sure the gods will be with us on the day!”

This years event has been sponsored by many of the local businesses including the Commonwealth Bank, Worsley Alumina, Australind Premix, Fill-a-Bins, Lyondell – Millennium Inorganic Chemicals, Iluka Resources, L J Hooker, Bemax Resources, Discount Auto Parts, Leschenault Leisure Centre and the Southwest Development Commission. “Many thanks also go to the Shire of Harvey for allowing the Lions to use the foreshore park area” said Lions Club President John Huys.

“This is a great affordable family day out with lots of activities for the kids with Jeeps of Fun, bouncy castles, merry-go-round, Incredible Creatures farm animals, face painting and fairy floss just to name a few” said Lions member Bob Stevens.

“For the mum and dads there will be continuos free live entertainment including belly dancing, fashion parades, musical and dance items, art demonstrations by John Spencer, drumming and mural painting courtesy of the Australind Escape Youth Centre Inc. just to name a few”.

“Each year since inception in 2004, the festival has grown building on the previous year and this year will be no exception with 5,000 people expected to attend on the day” said Lions member Bob Stevens.

All money raised goes towards community projects and organisations in the Australind and immediate surrounding areas.

There is still stall space left and if people are interested in booking a spot or finding out more information, please contact Bob Stevens on 9725 1660 or Jeff Blunt on 9725 2593
