About Djidi Djidi SchoolDjidi Djidi Aboriginal School was established in 1996 in order to better serve the needs of Noongar children in the South West city of Bunbury from two perspectives. 1) 1. The children’s educational experiences enhance the preservation of culture. 2) 2. That superior educational outcomes would be achieved for these children if their educational experiences are sensitive to their culture. The School model was developed using Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal staff working together. The main aims of the school are:
1. To improve educational outcomes for Aboriginal students 2. To strengthen and affirm Aboriginal culture 3. To encourage Aboriginal participation and increased student attendance and retention
